Brief Description:  Bend center and left baffles

I added some blue tape the the P01-45 oil cooler baffle template for a closer fit to the oil cooler opening and to reduce other gaps to the engine case. I attached the template to the .025 raw stock supplied in the baffle kit using 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive. Spraying the 77 on the paper template only, it peals off nicely when done. I cut out the baffle, smoothed the edges, and bent it at the required lines. I still needed to do a little trimming at some points for a slip fit into position so there was no stress on the baffle. After peeling off the template, I used turpentine to remove the remaining adhesive.

I removed the carb intake tube to fit P30-38. Checked the fit of my Photoshop template, and made any adjustments. Cut the left side off the laser cut part P30-38 at the point indicated best by my template fitting. Adhered the template to the baffle part, cut where needed, smoothed the edges, and bent the part. The hole for the intake tube is sized for the tube, but not if the connecting hose need to pass through the baffle. I'll need to refit the intake tube and see if the connector hose can be contained within the forward baffle area. The intake manifold has a 1-5/8" diameter. The supplied connector hose is 1-1/2" and hard to slip onto the intake manifold. I've ordered some 1-5/8" fuel hose to evaluate. I might be able to use a muffler pipe expanded to increase the diameter of the intake tube slightly.

I checked that the spark plugs can be removed with the fence mount brackets installed, which they can. However, the fence baffle would need to be removed to get the plugs out. I'll have to see if I can make an access hole and cover to remove plugs without removing the baffle. Bent and installed the fence baffle.

Bent and installed P01-16, the left hand corner. Before attaching the template to the baffle, I made some slight trim modifications for a best fit. After cutting and bending, I still needed to do a bit of trimming, mostly be some casting fins, for nice good fit.
